Terry Randy Awashish

Terry Randy Awashish est un fier Atikamekw Nehirowisiw de la communauté d’Opitciwan. Artiste multidisciplinaire et designer graphique indépendant, il est diplômé de l’Institution Kiuna où il a été le premier récipiendaire du prix Manitou/Kiuna (2017). Après un certificat en arts plastiques Terry poursuit en art graphique à l’UQAM dont il est le président du Cercle des Premières Nations (CPNUQAM). Artiste dans l’âme, tout en ayant un esprit entrepreneurial et une forte conscience sociale, il partage sa passion pour la photographie, la peinture et le design graphique à travers ses créations. Invité par Ondinnok à État des lieux sur la situation des arts autochtones (2017), il a créé une pertinente performance identitaire s’appuyant sur la dualité du Nikastinan, entre territoire et ville. L’avenir se pointe au RIAPA.

Terry Randy Awashish, is proud Atikamekw Nehirowisiw from the Opitciwan community. Multidisciplinary artist and freelance graphic designer, he is a graduate of the Institution Kiuna where he was the first recipient of the Manitou/Kiuna Award (2017). After completing a certificate in fine arts, Terry went on to study graphic art at UQAM where he is the president of the circle of First Nations (CPNUQAM). Artist to the core, while having an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong social conscience, he shares his passion for photography, painting and graphic design through his creations. Invited by Ondinnok at l’État sur la situation de l’art autochtone au Québec (2017), he created a relevant identity performance based on the duality of the Nikastinan, between the wild territory and the city. With his presence, the future shows up at the RIAPA.
